Cooper Tire Sponsors Donation Trip To Akeli School

(Shanghai, China, Apr 29, 2021) Recently, Cooper Tire joins force with the Way of Off-road, in a cross-country trip led by off-road influencer @Haifeng to Akeli, Sichuan, to carry and donate books, winter clothes as well as other supplies provided by Tsinghua University and other parties to local students.

The average altitude of Akeli, located in Aba area, Sichuan province, exceeds 4,300 meters, and is the town with the highest altitude in the province. The geographic and weather conditions in Akeli is severe, with only a 3-month period of fine weather during June to August, and a freezing rest of the year. The roads surrounding the town are mostly unpaved roads, with complicated conditions that is mixed by gravel and rocks, which results in very little interaction between the town and the rest of the country. Average annual income per capita is at only 1,000 RMB, which makes it hard for local residents to cover winter clothes

as well as school supplies for their children.

Having coordinated with local authorities, and as the final part of the show Drive to Western Sichuan, Season 2, @Haifeng takes on the mission with Tsinghua University, Cooper Tire and other organizations to make the donation come true. Due to the limited capacity of pick up trucks, only part of the supplies reached the hands of children during the show, and more supplies are to follow.

Two arctic trucks teamed up to be the pioneer group of the donation trip, and counted on Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT to carry them through the difficult road conditions. When driving in western Sichuan, it is common to go through mixed surfaces such as cement, tarmac and gravel. The fact that the vehicles had to carry maximum load across mountainous regions puts more pressure on the tires. With great off-road grip, durable tread and strong haulage, Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT ensures the safety of the long drive.

As an upgrade on star all terrain pattern Discoverer AT3, Discoverer AT3 XLT is fit for both urban and off-road conditions, and enjoys leading edge technology to provide even stronger durability and anti-cutting performance. The Secure Grip all terrain design provides

greater off-road driving capability and improved wet/dry traction. Newly designed pattern and durable tread compound prevents cutting and chipping on rocky and gravel terrain. The rugged traction shoulders provide increased off-road traction for boulder crawling and mud handling as well as additional resistance to abrasion and punctures. The stone ejection ledges easily eject stones and gravel, helping to prevent tire damage. When on urban roads, the Whisper Groove provides a sound barrier that reduces road noise, while uniquely shaped Aqua Vac Channels improve the tire’s resistance to hydroplaning.
